I think part of the problem with assessing the length is that the cuffs need to be pressed really flat. Also, you have a tiny waist and taking the width of the pant legs in a little bit would help with the overall proportion.Nancy in A2https://www.blogger.com/profile/09440258987096807667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1983143568219177072.post-73726409218785722682009-06-10T19:20:26.526-08:002009-06-10T19:20:26.526-08:00If you're going to wear them with flat sandals...If you're going to wear them with flat sandals, then I would go shorter. One or two inches below the knee would be best. You have long slender legs, so you can even get away with mid-calf. If you are going to wear heels, then I would go with what you're calling medium length rather than your "shorter length" It looks more current.Nancy Winninghamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01291320098379550586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1983143568219177072.post-78146862509483617712009-06-10T18:50:01.421-08:002009-06-10T18:50:01.421-08:00Here are my 2 cents:
I like the medium length best...Here are my 2 cents:
I like the medium length best, so far, considering it's supposed to be a 7/8 length. It seems to be the most flattering without changing the style of the pants completely by going too short - you'll end up with 3/4 length, or even pedal pushers.
I would try, though, taking out a bit of width around the leg in the front. The back looks fantastic, but in the front, esp. around the crotch, there seems too be too much fabric (maybe caused by position of pleats), making the pants look a bit baggy and therefore in proportion to its length too boxy. Does that make sense?
If you look at the style picture you'll see the difference of width/length ratio is greater, resulting in a longer rectangle, read: longer, taller, slimmer legs - more flattering.Sandranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1983143568219177072.post-60139011787382972462009-06-10T08:03:12.189-08:002009-06-10T08:03:12.189-08:00I really like picture number two!

If you are really wanting the 7/8 length, you might try a pant with a closer fit through the hips and legs. I think they would create a better look proportionally speaking. I think part of the problem is that the fabric is just a little to stiff. If the pants were made of a softer fabric, and you were wearing dressy sandals, I would go with the 7/8 length that Burda suggests. If you don't mind me saying, I think you should either make them full length pants or just cut these off and make them long, cuffed shorts that hit you right above the knee. You have such a cute figure and these pants aren't doing anything for it.
