Leather needle, binder clips, glue - though not all weights need it. I've also had success using thin strips of Steam a Seam to flatten seam allowances - just make sure you do a test first and have a flannel press cloth between the leather and the iron. (S-a-S is what I used on my big orange Hotpatterns tote that I made earlier this year and it worked fine).

Love the red leather, it's going to make a fabulous obi.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00449229622474314815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1983143568219177072.post-57491805178031631602009-06-25T06:15:16.453-08:002009-06-25T06:15:16.453-08:00I'm seconding working with leather - I love it...I'm seconding working with leather - I love it and I can't imagine ever buying a handbag again (if you don't have the Hot Patterns Nairobi bag pattern EMAIL ME!). Just get yourself some leather needles and either a teflon, roller, or walking foot and some binder clips (instead of pins) and you're good as gold. I've never had to glue or hammer anything, either, as my leather is generally soft and malleable anyway.melissahttp://www.fehrtrade.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1983143568219177072.post-34770839556154931382009-06-25T05:32:27.825-08:002009-06-25T05:32:27.825-08:00That will make a wonderful belt on your tiny waist...That will make a wonderful belt on your tiny waist!Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10097054119585201394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1983143568219177072.post-43554561197050227342009-06-24T17:17:11.508-08:002009-06-24T17:17:11.508-08:00I'm drooling, too.
