I love this sweater. Ever since I got back from my Crow Pass trip the weather has been chilly. It probably doesn't help that I was wet and chilled for two whole days. I just want to curl up in a thick wool sweater and drink tea. I actually really like this time of the year. This is another Jalie 2911. The last one I made was a black wool jersey. This one is made out of an odd, but fantastic, fabric. I buy bolts of fabric. Some of you think your stash is huge but I doubt you've got anything on me. I am outfitted like a fabric store. I kid you not. I have between 20-30 bolts of fabric (15 yds each) plus the usual stash fabrics. Most of the bolts are for my business but I have a lot of fleece too. When I see something that I can't resist, I buy a bolt of it because I know we will use it and I can get it at wholesale prices if I buy a whole bolt. This is a roll-end fabric from Patagonia. Here's one of my crazy girls. She is excited to wear dad's hunting hat because it is raining.
Here's a snip of the Patagonia website. They have several colors but I liked this one the best.
It's a double layer polyester/wool. You can see the polyester side here. When you wash it, the wool shrinks a bit and pulls the poly layer up forming ribs.
Here you can see the two layers. The wool is the lighter one.
On my sweater I made the wool on the inside. It's not itchy but, then again, I love the feel of wool. Wool = warm. I've been toying with the idea of putting some of it up on my Etsy site in two yard chunks. I'm still debating.

In other news: It's canning season!!!! I did a bunch of canning yesterday. Rhubarb, jams, and soups. Yum!!

Love that sweater! It looks so warm and cozy. Your girl is so sweet. How do you can soup? Do you use a pressure cooker?
Also want to know how you can soup. I freeze soup, as well as spaghetti sauce, salsa, cooked pinto beans and jams from the pectin box instructions.
The sweater very cozyand you look great in it; the wool knit fabric is really great too!

VERY CUTE SWEATER! I agree they are perfect this time of year. I have been pulling out my fleece this past week. I can't imagine how good this sweater felt after Crow Pass. Your trip sounded amazing. I hope it was a really good break before school begins.

It was 95 here today, so I thought there was something wrong with the computer when I saw you modeling a new sweater! Then I remembered... Alaska! Duh...

The canning and the fabric is gorgeous. Hard to think about wool right now, since it was 95 today, and higher tomorrow. Of course, I would love a chunk if you decide to part with some.
Wow, how do you do it?! Young children, loads of sewing, and canning!! Reminds me of when we were in Czech last year at this time and my SIL was bottling gherkins (yum!), I bought a groovy little gadget they have there to do up the lids.

You can do everything; you are amazing! I never thought to can soup before. Oh, and I would totally buy that fabric if you sold it. How do you get bolts of patagonia fabric?
I'd be in for 2 yards of that fabric! It gets cold in New Hampshire where I spend lots of winter weekends. I'm glad you are back from the trip safe and sound. Loved the pictures so much. Sooo...now you can too!! Is there anything you don't do?
LOVE that fabric! BTW, I'm into canning too, but I've never done soup...what kind of soup did you do? And I'm assuming you pressure canned it?
Do you know where I could sell bolts of Patagonia fabric? We had some donated to our preschool for a garage sale benefitting a teacher with cancer. I know they are worth money but not sure what to do with them. Any help is greatly apprecited: neilrshah@hotmail.com
