Halloween Progress . . .

If you don’t recall my plans, check here. I have the main pieces assembled. I used Jalie 2215 for both the top and the bottoms. I sort of feel like a blue marshmallow right now. I plan to add some stripes to my suit in the next few days. I’ll have to enlist the help of a friend so I can wear it while she paints me. I was thinking of making little paper/cardstock templates and having her spray paint the stripes on. What do you guys think of that idea? Anyone got a better idea?

And more importantly, I made a muslin of those Jalie 3022 pants. I really like the wide waistband and the back seam detail. I have Jalie 2215 and modified them to work.

Here you can barely see these back leg seams. I have no idea what shoes to wear with this outfit. I don’t have any blue shoes and I think the boots look okay.

Here’s a better view of the waistband. It’s an 8” band folded in half so it’s a little under 4” (I didn’t add any extra for SA). Hello, runner’s butt.

Here I am. Imagine it with a really long black braided wig, blue face paint and some sparkly decals.

Great fit - but is that a hint of a camel toe I see in the first picture?

Love the color. Perfect patterns for what you are going for. I think painting on the stripes is a perfect idea....and black high heeled shoes would look great, that way you would get the full leg of stripes :)

I agree, (spray?) painting the stripes is definitely the way to go. I never saw the movie, but it sure looks good to me. Now do plan on blue face makeup/paint?

I really need to start running more... great so far, can't wait to see the finished product with wig and make-up!

I think you should make boot covers out of the blue lycra & carry the stripes all the way to the feet.
(The heels make your legs go on forever & that really works for the character.)

I am intrigued by your costume idea, so I googled. Here's an image of Neytiri (showing feet) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2UbsSBz9ckE/SyVGZXT1bpI/AAAAAAAAAmg/98_chsbpHG0/s1600/avatar-neytiri-3-wallpapers_2_1680x1050.jpg

By the way, there's also those little specks of light on her skin, you could use sequins. Depending on how much effort & accuracy you're going for of course!

You could definitely use spray paint, and use painters tape torn in rough strips to get the same striped effect.

Its going to be a great costume! I have just started running - how long (and far) do I have to run to get a butt like that? I am very jealous.

The brown boots seem heavy, but I didn't see that movie. I would call your friend and ask her what she thinks about using the templates. It would be a shame to mess up the costume. I'm anxious to see it finished.

I think spray painting would work great. You probably don't need to do it on, just tape off the positioning a little, then spray it flat?? I like the idea of the boot covers in blue, the boots stand out too much right now..... If you want some sparkle, add glitter to the spray paint while it is still wet. :) Going to be a great costume!

You look amazing!!! Do you do any other type of exercising other than running? I do Pilates, but I am thinking I need to take up running.
