I love garage sales . . .

My mother in law scored this book at a garage sale for $0.50! It had lots of good ideas. It doesn't show you how to any particular outfit but all the pieces and parts. It includes how to make capes, gowns, wings, legs, masks, spats, hats, so fun!! With three little ones I'll get a lot of use out of it. My son was already saying he wanted to be a Pacific White Tip Shark. Not just a shark, but the Pacific White Tip Shark. Are other kids this specific? Also he has been dressing monochromatically. All orange or blue. He's a weirdo.

Oh yeah, my son is very specific also. Wants everything to look authentic, same color pants that Shaggy (Scooby Doo) wore, wanted real quail feathers on an indian chief costume.
Also went through a phase where he would only wear red shirts, then would only wear black shirts...

I don't think my kids could have been any pickier than I was about Halloween costumes. I mean, I went to three different fabric stores to score the exact right colors of fabric for a Snow White costume...how anal is that?

I knew a gal whose daughter was insistent that she wanted to be a fruit bat for Halloween. And she was quite rigid about the wings and the number of tips specific to that species.

I have quite a few books from that same Singer series. They are definitely dated to look at, but hold so much great information.
