When it's pulled down at the waist, it looks okay.
When I move my fingers I get large boob-esque pockets under my bust. I think those with a bust will pull up some of the extra fabric. On me, it just pools and looks like an extremely long and floppy boob. Not so spicy.
It's okay, I'm not heart-broken. I liked the style but wanted to muslin in first because I wasn't sure of the gathers. I love this Gorgeous Fabrics knit but didn't have too much left so I used it as my muslin fabric. On an interesting note. I usually do a petite adjustment on Burda patterns. I didn't this time and the armhole is perfect. I think during the summer I run more and stand up straighter. I need to remember to do that all winter.

Yeah that pattern screamed "granny boobs" to me as soon as I saw it and since I have ample girls they are already gravitationally challenged so I decided to pass that pattern up. I really liked your fabric combination though.
I'm laughing with you. As soon as I saw this pattern I crossed it off my list because it screamed saggy boobs. You have confirmed my thoughts.
The first time I saw the sketch for this top on someone's blog I didn't think it would be flattering on anyone. That's just such a weird shape of detailing to impose on a body, male or female.
I thought that was an interesting pattern so I am very interested to see how it came out. Being a little challenged in that department myself I might give it a miss - but I thank you for finding out and letting the rest of us know.
Well drat. I thought the seaming was interesting and fun, but it would have been a disaster with my big girls :D Thanks for doing the hard work!

What if you re-cut it to eliminate the gathers below the bust? That might be more flattering. It's worth a try to save that beautiful GF piece...

I wondered about this pattern too. Lots of the Burda stuff is skin tight. I'm thinking that this top would work if it were like a bathing suit top-tight enough to pull the gathers straight across. But then it wouldn't be a comfortable top. Oh well, live and learn!

I had my doubts about this top...so glad you tried it out so I don't have to. Not for the small of chest, moving on.
Can I say that it comforts me to know you can make things that don't make you look ridiculously cute?
I liked the dress version but I do have more boobage. I'm also thinking, because I really liked the neckline and I seem to thrive on unnecessary work, that I might retry it with the gathers literally up UNDER the boobs rather than slung below them. That would be way more flattering and I could still get the rest of the dress, which I liked.
