So I like this one much better. I used a lovely blue
double knit from Gorgeous Things. I tried to find it on her website but she must be sold out. I love this. It's not a dress for hot, hot weather though. It's certainly an Alaska dress with the double layered bodice in
double knit. I didn't do much differently than last time. I did add my 1/2" bust adjustment so it's shortened just a bit.
The back had a center back seam.
Burda would have you put a zipper in here. I added a swayback adjustment. I probably would have added a center back seam anyway to do the swayback adjustment. I didn't put in a zipper.
Burda, it's a knit. Knits are stretchy.
Detail of bottom pleating.
Detail of top pleating.
Inside of bodice. The facing is not stitched down yet. I just had to show you guys. It did not finish the edges of the facing because I didn't want to add even more bulk. It's double knit, there are two layers, there are lots of pleats, it's thick enough.
I'm off to write the PatternReview review! :)

-btw i really love how quickly you post new things, when you're sitting at a computer for days on end doing uni work, seeing a new post from you appear is always a delightful distraction :)
Love the dress...love the shoes!
Just goes to show that the fabric makes all the difference....looks very lovely on you...perfect color. Will it fit me? :)
This version looks great on you. Love the blue. Personally I think you look better in deeper shades. I especially liked the burgundy jacket that was part of your mini SWAP.
It's got such beautiful details, what a great pattern.
Next time you do a question and answer, can you please tell me how you manage to sew so much with so many commitments and other demands on your time and energy?
I can't work out how you do it, so I figured you must know a magic trick.
That turned out really great! Kinda makes me want that pattern ...
This looks so fantastic.
Fantastic! It looks great on you and you did an amazing job matching the seams.
What a differnece a day (and a differnt fabric) makes!
Wonderful dress -- the style and color are really flattering! I can't believe you've already made something from the June issue --- I'm still trying to choose which projects to work on!
That dress is so flattering on you, and the color brings out your eyes. Great dress!

Lovely, you can really see the pleat detail now and the fit is perfect!
Dawn I just love this dress, the colour is beautiful. You look absolutely fabulous in it! The heavier double knit weave makes all the difference. I will be looking out for this pattern when the June BWOF arrives down under in a few months time. Luckily its too cold to be wearing short sleeves so I'm happy to wait. Thanks for sharing your tips and experience on the pattern.
FANTASTIC! I hope you wear it every day. Don't save it for a special occasion.
Nice job! The dress is lovely, and the color is--wow!

Nice, Dawn! Doubleknit is perfect for this style of dress.
Oh it looks so great, I can't wait to get my hands on this issue, it comes out Friday in Montreal (Canada). I had picked this pattern (the top) as my favorite from this issue, so I'm glad someone has already sewed this one to see how it looks. It looks really good on you, the color, the fit, the style, and the fabric is perfect. I can't wait to start mine. Chantal.
