More Jeans Stuff

If you are sick of me on my jeans kick I understand. Fell free to drop me hate mail, egg my house, or just skip this post. I found some interesting jeans information in InStlye magazine the other day. Here are some excerpts.

I have some 12oz black denim just waiting to get cut up.

This was a whole spread on the 6 types of cool jeans for Right Now.

This page talks all about how they shoot the denim with BB guns, bleach it, drill it, slice it, etc.

#3 was interesting. They show a pair of jeans that is heat-welded and use no stitches. They are a steal at $345. Yikes.

Uck, acid wash.

Another uck, the skinny jean. These make me look like a badminton racket. Skinny ankles and calves with an ample space to serve a birdie.

The pictures should get bigger when you click on them. Enjoy!

Dawn, I am not sick of your obsession with jeans. I just have not gotten up the nerve to sew some myself. But it is coming....really! I have everything I need to do it, but I just keep chickening out and making things for my daughters and clients instead.

So keep the great ideas coming. It is inspiring, and one of these days may inspire me to actually sew those jeans.

Stitchless jeans sound cool! And we can't feel guilty that we should have sewn them!

The more you know about jeans, the better!

OMGosh...those acid wash jeans brought back horrifying memories from the 80's, LOL!

But, the more info about jeans, the better!

Here's a little tip: To keep my dark jeans dark..I use any brand of "color care" shampoo ! ..and wash in cold water/delicate cycle. It really works!

Ooh, heat welded seams...how cool...I think I'll run right out and get a pair - NOT! Holy crap - $345!!

Great info on denim and jeans in general...but I have to ask - you read InStyle?! :)

Address please for egging? Just kidding, all of your posts mean that the pattern ROCKS and is totally do-able and worthwhile! I'll get to mine next weekend when school's out!!!

Yea, I'm so sick of reading about jeans that I bought a copy of "In Style" today. I'll have to let let hubbie know how much money I'm saving by making jeans (at least $300 based on the article!) I'd love to visit your house (sewing room) but not to egg it for any reason. I'd feel obliged to clean it up and it may be worse than chocolate pudding (That was banned from my house as the boys loved to use it for food fights - hope you don't know anything about that). I'll read jean talk anytime. Happy sewing!

I like to read about your sewing, whatever it is. About those jeans pictures in this post? I didn't like the looks of most of them. Is it my age, or maybe my preference for a finished look is because I sew ...

What?!! Badminton racket? LOLROF!!! You crack me up. I don't care for the skinny jeans look on myself either.

Nope, I'm not tired of "jean stuff". The more the better.
