Jalie 3350 Swimsuit

Oh my gosh, let’s forget that whole Live Writer post ever happened shall we? They seem to have fixed the link between Live Writer and Blogger so all is good. How sad is it though that this one thing can wreck my blogging world? I may need to work on redundancy.

Okay, back to the swimsuit. I made it for one of the twinsies. They seem to be getting taller but not wider. They fit in the 5/6 year-old sizing for the bust, waist, and hips but the 8 year-old sizing for the length. I ended up using the Jalie size L (I think it’s a 7?) and adding two inches to the torso. They have really long torsos like their momma. I really like how it turned out. I used a swimsuit nylon for the main body that I bought at Yardage Town. The black is a shiny dancewear fabric I bought at JoAnn’s. It holds up well in water and chlorine. I also used it in this pink and black suit.

I’m hopeful that the pink flower doesn’t end up in the wrong spot on her butt. Maybe no one else will notice. Eek.

It’s fully lined in the front. Can I just say how much I love having my new Janome CoverPro for things like this? My other machine would do it but not very well. This zipped through all the straps, elastic, and necklines like a charm. I love it.

Here’s the pattern I used. I’ve made View A twice now and View B once. I like both versions.

I have some special little friends and one more sewing thing to show you this week.

Ok, you just convinced me on starting sewing bathing suits. Now, fabric shopping ! Catching up on previous posts you made, the Burda coat is lovely. Feminine, great style, this is a neat project you finished there.
